The history of Salento

Salento or peninsula of Salento, well known as the " heel of Italy", is a subregion situated along the south of Apulia, between the Ionic sea to the west and the Adriatic sea to the East.

The Messapic origin is uncertain, probably due to various migrations never shown. one of the first sure settlements are at the beginning of the 8th century b.C., with Oria or Cavallino who settled the territory.

This is a strange and misterious stone building put into a peculiar hole, symmetrical in depth and diameter, situated in an area full of tombs hollow them selves in the rock.
